The clinical question

Gene expression profiling has been proposed as a way to add biologic information to conventional clinicopathologic risk assessment in melanoma.

This Research Forum session focused on the MERLIN_001 study and its evaluation of a primary melanoma gene signature designed to predict sentinel node status and refine prognostic assessment in patients with sentinel node-negative disease.
